Laser Therapy Our state-of-the-art Kavo KEY 3+ laser is the most advanced periodontal technology available. We select cases carefully and treat both surgical and non-surgical situations with great success and comfort. Cancer Screening A routine part of our treatment and examinations. If required, biopsies are done in our clinic. Surgical Management: The following are some commom procedures prescribed for patients: Pocket Reduction Procedures When periodontal disease is extensive and destruction of the underlying bone and supporting tissues is involved, it is may be necessary to treat the disease through surgical access. The goals of this procedure are: Regenerative Procedures In our clinic, we prefer to regenerate the lost tissue due to peridontal disease. Several techniques and materials are used in our practise to maximise the regenerative potiential of each situation. Careful case selection and applied technique are utilised whenever possible.
Crown lengthening is required when the edge of decay or a restoration is too deep below the gum tissue and not accessible. The procedure involves adjusting the level of the gum tissue and bone around the tooth to create access for the restorative material and allow longterm access for hygiene in this area. Gingival Grafts When gingival recession occurs, grafting or reconstruction may be offered to create tissue strength to protect the area from bacteria and trauma. Gingival recession may result in root sensitivity, increase risk to decay as well as an altered esthetic appearance. A gingival graft is designed to solve these problems and is a predictable procedure that can result in longterm strengthening and stability. Dental Implant Procedures Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. |
