Meet our team

Dr. Sandra Chong

Sandra was inspired by her father, who practiced dentistry for over 40 years. She completed her bachelor's of science at the University of Western Ontario and then completed her dental degree with several awards at the University of Toronto in 1998. She then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of British Columbia and then joined a busy family practice in Kamloops, BC. After this experience, Sandra chose to return to the University of Toronto and spend three years completing a Master's of Science and a specialty certification in Periodontology. During this time, she published her second paper in dentistry and was awarded the distinguished Balint Orban Prize from the American Academy of Periodontology for her Master's research.

Sandra and her husband have settled in Ottawa and are enjoying the city with their two daughters. Her interests include hiking and canoeing in the great outdoors, culinary delights and spending time with her daughters. Her passion for life, family and nature is evident in her office as well as her philosophies of care. Sandra strives to provide education for her community and quality service in a calming environment.

Christy Rushton

Christy is our clinic administrator and certified dental assistant. She graduated from the Dental Assisting Level II program at Algonquin College in 2000. Since then she has gained experience in many areas of dentistry, such as Comprehensive General Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, and now Periodontics. Christy takes pride in ensuring our patients are educated, comfortable, and confident when making oral health care decisions for optimum health. She will assist you in scheduling your appointments, and is highly experienced in discussing treatment and fees in a friendly and understanding manner.

While Christy enjoys time with her husband and
two dogs, her growing family will keep her busier
than ever.

Sandra Shulist

Sandra is our certified dental assistant who will be working closely with you in our clinic. She graduated from South Western Medix School as a Certified Dental Assistant, Level II in London Ontario, and moved to Ottawa in 2002.

After working for over 6 years in general dentistry, Sandra has joined Dr. Chong's practice and continues to learn and grow with this amazing team. She brings calmness and comfort to the dental office and her organizational skills ensure that your experience will be efficient and in the highest standard of care. She enjoys working with people and is passionate about her career choice as she believes "everyone loves a beautiful smile and the warmth it brings."

When not working, Sandra enjoys fishing, traveling and dancing.

Tonya Daley

Tonya is our office administrator and a Certified Dental Assistant. She graduated from CDI college in dental assisting level 2 in 2005 and has since attended many advanced courses in dentistry.

Tonya's knowledge and experience will ensure our clients receive the optimal care and attention for all their oral health needs.

Gabriela Bravo

Our registered Dental Hygenist is a dynamic new addition to our office. Gabriela's attention to detail and her caring manner allows her to provide the highest level of care to our clients.
